In the Night

The warmth of the mist
Over me, kissed
Your hand in the dark
And hark

The birds are beginning
To sharpen their singing
The dawn is upon us

And hear
How warm moves the strength of the day
How cool
The streams at our feet
How they run
And rise in soft ripples and pour between stones
And the dark is ignored in our bones

Move over, make room for your lover.
Your treasure is mine, you will not be aloof. In your arms
I will conquer the mystery now. I shall master
Your strength, I shall dissipate mine like a mist
You are mine, we have kissed.
